Welcome Spring:  Hooray for May   . . .

A Tribute to Elmer Elementary Teaching Staff and School Nurse:

What a Teacher!

My teacher is a person,
Who guides us all.
My teacher is a person,
Who teaches us all.
My teacher is a person,
Who hears me when I call.
My teacher is a person,
Who holds me when I fall.
My teacher is a person, Whom I trust in all,
My teacher is a person,
Who, to me, is the greatest teacher of all!

National Teacher’s Day May 8th

Elmer Elementary School Nurse

Putting on band Aides
stopping a hurting feeling.
Holding on to ice packs.
Giving out change of clothes.
Tirelessly healing
all day long.
Just to make sure,
that nothing goes wrong.
Our children are safer,
because of you.
Thank you Mrs. Ewing . . .
For all that you do!

Nurse Appreciation Day May 9th

Elmer Elementary School is proud of our Teachers and School Nurse!

Dates to Keep in Mind:

We will celebrate School Spirit Day on Friday, May 4th; show your Elmer Pride by wearing your blue and white.

Our Family Fun Night featuring Kevin Henkes books was a huge success. We had a wonderful turnout for our event.  A big Thank You to everyone who was able to attend and enjoy the evening with us!

National Teacher’s Day is celebrated on May 8th and Nurse Appreciation Day will be celebrated on May 9th, as well as many other celebration days.  Please note on our calendar . . . Elmer Elementary is proud of all of our Staff!

Mother’s Day:  In the United States, Mother's Day started nearly 150 years ago, when Anna Jarvis, an Appalachian homemaker, organized a day to raise awareness of poor health conditions in her community, a cause she believed would be best advocated by mothers. She called it "Mother's Work Day."  Since then, many traditions have evolved.  Mark your calendars:  Mother’s Day is celebrated the second Sunday of May.  Second Grade will have its annual Mother’s Day Tea on May 11th.
